As Pascal Is A Small Quantity

As Pascal is a small quantity, in practice, multiples of this unit is used.

Blaise Pascal

The pascal (symbol: Pa) is the unit of pressure in the International System of Units (SI). It is also used to quantify internal pressure, stress, Young's modulus, and ultimate tensile strength. The unit, named after Blaise Pascal, is an SI coherent derived unit defined as one newton per square meter (N/m2). It is also equivalent to 10 barye (10 Ba) in the CGS system. Common multiple units of the pascal are the hectopascal (1 hPa = 100 Pa), which is equal to one millibar, and the kilopascal (1 kPa = 1000 Pa), which is equal to one centibar.

1 kPa = 103 Pa = 103 N/ m2                                  (kPa = Kilo Pascal)

1 MPa = 106 Pa = 106 N/ m2 = 1 N/mm2             (MPa = Mega Pascal)

1 GPa = 109 Pa = 109 N/ m2                                (GPa = Giga Pascal)

The pascal can be expressed using SI derived units, or alternatively solely SI base units, as:

1 Pa = 1 N/m2 = 1 kg/m.s2 = 1 J/m3
